Advanced technology ... new facilities ... exceptional people.
Located on the grounds of St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital’s Cornwall campus, the Littman Cancer Center provides access to the experts, technology and treatments patients need to fight the battle against cancer, right here in our community. Each year, more than 1 million Americans are diagnosed with cancer. We know St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital’s cancer program is vital to the health and well-being of cancer patients in the mid-Hudson Valley. In fact, our oncology program is accredited by the American College of Surgeons’ Commission on Cancer – an honor bestowed on only one out of four hospitals that treat cancer. According to the Commission on Cancer, accreditation is granted only to those facilities that have voluntarily committed to a rigorous evaluation process, performance review, and on-site inspection, and which provide the very best in diagnosis and treatment of cancer. Receiving care at an accredited program ensures patients have access to comprehensive care offering a range of state-of-the-art services and equipment, a multi-specialty, team approach to coordinate treatment options, and comprehensive information, education and support.
Traveling long distances to see specialists, undergo treatment and find support, heightens the physical and emotional demands on cancer patients and their families. SLCH has brought comprehensive cancer care to our region, so our friends and neighbors can stay close to home for the diagnostics, treatment and support they need when facing this disease.
The Littman Cancer Center’s recently completed radiation oncology unit houses Cornwall Radiation Oncology Services (CROS) and the unparalleled precision of TomoTherapy. An affiliate of St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital, CROS is the first in Orange, Ulster and Sullivan Counties to offer this revolutionary treatment, which uses highly targeted beamlets to shrink the tumor while minimizing damage to healthy tissue.
